Romney Tolerated Mexican Consulate in Boston?!?
So, it looks like the Caucus Cooler boys have a burr up their ass again (and once again, obviously planted by those squeaky clean, easily indignant Romney folks). Really, couldn’t Romney have sprung for a hotel room so his minions could have taken photos in broad daylight… the lighting in those pictures is horrible.
Apparently, Gov. Huckabee (who according to Romeny is inept at foreign policy) is solely responsible for the Mexican government’s decision to open a consulate office in Little Rock. Wow, he sure must be powerful for the Mexican government to bow to his every whim.
According to the official website of the Mexican Consulates, there are 46 Mexican Consulate locations throughout the United States.
Guess where I found this information… from the website for the Mexican Consulate in Boston, Massachusetts, home of former Massachusetts governor (and desperate presidential candidate) Mitt Romney!
Using the logic of the Cooler, Mitt Romney must be totally for illegal immigration, too! Why else would he allow a Mexican Consulate in his state?
Has anyone actually thought about a consulate does? One of the main functions is to provide Mexican citizens with paperwork that allows them to go back home to Mexico. Apparently that is something Romney supporters think we should be discouraging. Maybe all of us in Iowa should go protest the fact that there is a Mexican Consulate in neighboring Omaha, Nebraska. I bet Republican Gov. Dave Heineman of Nebraska is pro-illegal immigration too.
Aw heck, while we’re at it, let’s protest the Mexican Consulate in Kansas City, Missouri. That’s not too far from Des Moines. I bet Republican Governor Matt Blunt is also in on the conspiracy.
For those of us up for a ski vacation, we could head out to Utah to protest the Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City. Apparently Republican Gov. Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. is in on the plan too.
Seriously, Camp Romney, you are only making yourselves look really desperate. Oh wait, you are really desperate…. Here’s some free advice (I know that will be a novel concept given that you guys are used to paying anyone having anything to do with your campaign quite handsomely): Why don’t you work on trying to bolster your own credibility rather than trying to smear someone else’s. If you’d done that a long time ago, you wouldn’t be in the (trailing) position you’re in now. Remember, Iowans don’t like bullies. I have sneaking suspicion your grenade launching strategy is going to backfire, and in fact, it already is.
And all this bashing of Huckabee’s immigration policy begs the question: What is Mitt Romney’s plan to deport all 20 million illegal immigrants? Apparently Huckabee’s plan to force them to return to Mexico on their own isn’t good enough for Mitt, so let’s hear how Mitt’s going to accomplish this task. Too bad he’s less interested in discussing solutions and would rather spend his time smearing others.
